Appelrouth Farah & Co. Adds New Tax Manager
Appelrouth, Farah & Co., P.A. recently announced William Cuervo, CPA has joined the firm’s Coral Gables office as a tax manager. In his new role, Cuervo will be responsible for training and developing accounting staff, conducting tax research and planning, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and counseling clients in accounting and tax matters. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in taxation, both from Florida International University. Cuervo has also taught undergraduate and graduate accounting and taxation classes the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University and Nova Southeastern University.
REDW Promotes New Principal
REDW LLC recently announced the promotion Jamie Fridley, CPA to Principal. Fridley has more than 15 years of public accounting experience working with small businesses, primarily local businesses in New Mexico. He has experience in a variety of industries, including technology, construction, real estate, medicine, legal, engineering, architecture and finance. In his new role, he will help develop REDW’s next generation of company leaders.
Grant Thornton Appoints Assistant Managing Principal
Grant Thornton LLP named Greg Westfall, CFA as the assistant managing principal for Industries and Markets for the firm’s offices in midtown and lower Manhattan, Long Island, Albany and Edison, N.J. Westfall is currently a principal in the Forensic and Valuation Services practice and specializes in assisting companies and attorneys with forensic accounting, internal investigations, business disputes and business valuations. Westfall received a master’s of business administration degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from The College of William & Mary.
Patricia Hennelly Joins CohnReznick as a Director
CohnReznick has named Patricia A. Hennelly a director in CohnReznick Advisory Group. She has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience within the healthcare and life sciences industries, as well as in the areas of forensic accounting, financial operations, mergers and acquisitions and bankruptcy and restructuring. Hennelly graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received her MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Grants Management Systems, Inc. Welcomes New Board Member
Grants Management Systems, Inc. appointed Deann Hasbrouck to the company’s board of directors. Hasbrouck will also serve as an Implementation & Training Manager. She has been with GMS, Inc. for over 26-years and succeeded in training hundreds of nonprofit accounting professionals on how to use the GMS system.
WeiserMazars Partner-In-Charge Named to Executive Committee
WeiserMazars LLP announced that Lisa Osofsky, CPA, PFS, CFP, Partner-in-Charge, Private Client Services has been elected to the firm’s Executive Committee. Osofsky is a founding member of WeiserMazars’ Tax Practice Board and currently serves on several firm leadership teams including the firm’s Partner Performance Committee. She has more than 17 years of experience assisting clients with income taxation, estate and gift strategies and collaborative wealth planning.
